Here's my story:

After years of infertility issues I was ecstatically pregnant with triplets.  I miscarried my triplet at 10 weeks.  I found out I was having twin girls but then an amnio caused my water to break at 17 weeks.  I spent 10 weeks on bedrest, leaking amniotic fluid the entire time and beating all the odds that I’d go into labor at any minute.. Corinne Margaret and Kaitlyn Elizabeth were born on 10/4/05 13 weeks early (26 weeks), each weighing 1.5 pounds. Our precious Angel Corinne only lived for 3 hours. Kaitlyn spent 127 days in the NICU.  I then had a 3rd preemie (My son Quinn was born at 34 weeks due to complete Placentia previa in 7/08).   I chronicle the life of my miracle Micro Preemie daughter in my Micro Preemie Blog, my preemie son and other motherhood issues from a life of a busy working mom.

Here is a video slide show showing the birth of my twin daughters that I created for the 2009 March of Dimes Walk.  We are again the San Francisco Bay Area Ambassador Family for 2010!:

If you would like to walk with our March of Dimes Family Teams or Donate to the March of Dimes in name of our twins, you can do so here:

Read the first post here to see how it all started:  August 2005

Many fellow micro preemies that I know also lost their twins/triplets. Here is a post I wrote on the subject:  Loss of a Twin

What is a MicroPreemie?

To an NICU medical professional, a micropreemie or micro preemie is defined as
a baby that is under 1 3/4 pounds (between 700-800 grams) and is generally born
before 26 weeks gestation, but most people prefer to loosen this term up to include
any baby under 3 pounds (1500 grams) or under 29 weeks gestation. Micro preemies
require a lot of medical attention in order to survive, and many more micro preemies
are surviving than ever before in history. The statistics for the survival of
a micro preemie can range from 10-80%.
